Compartmented Culture Chambers & Tooling
Developed originally as a model system to study the formation and maintenance of neuronal projections, the Campenot Compartmented Culture System provides unique experimental capabilities for the analysis of neural cell function and physiology. In compartmented culture, axons (neurites) emanating from neurons cultured in a proximal compartment grow across a water-tight barrier and enter into a separate fluid environment within a distal compartment. This mimics the neuronal cell bodies in one location in the nervous system projecting their axons through nerves or tracts to targets in another location.
